We witnessed a huge designer lifestyle fair of grand magnitude running successfully!
The property has lush gardens around the main building and regularly hosts gala weddings, picnics and important city events in and around them. These well-manicured lawns also serve as picnic spot for people who love to bask in the winter sun!
From the 6th floor room, Team FOUR magazines had the stunning aerial view of the huge swimming pool, the luxe spa called Rejuve, the fully equipped fitness centre above it and greenery surrounding the property. All the rooms and suites are super comfortable and every lobby very tastefully decorated. The room service menu is just what a tired guest is looking for, and the quick deliveries make it more desirable!
The LaLiT group of hotels celebrates diversity and follows the principal of #purelove. Mr Keshav Suri, Executive Director at The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, is a firm believer in inclusivity. His brainchild, Kitty Su and Kitty KO in Bengaluru, the Group’s nightclub, is the longest-running and most inclusive nightclub in the country. The club has supported acid attack survivors, hired India’s only differently abled DJ and people from the deeply marginalized LGBTQIA+ community.
Under his guidance the Group established their restaurants, 24/7, Baluchi and OKO.
For Valentine’s week, this property thoughtfully offers a luxuriously romantic Dine on Bed, a private Cabana Dinner, for lovers. The white curtains, candlelight setup with floral decoration, and gourmet delicacies specially curated by the Chef are just a few highlights of the experience.
The LaLiT Ashok took our hearts away with the food they served over both days! An intriguing conversation with the Executive Chef, Mr Aashish Sanyal revealed, not only is he reviving some amazing lost recipes; he is also introducing some interesting and not very widely known recipes through his regular food festivals here. While explaining the dishes to us in Baluchi, the fine dining restaurant that plates dishes that are influenced from the North West Frontier cuisine along with some local recipes, he says with a smile, “I am a food storyteller,” and we see his menu curation is as artsy as it can get!
The Gosht ki Galouti Kebabs that melted in our mouths, the unforgettable Nizami Machhli, and Shahi Tukdas were the witnesses of what divine satiety means! We were stunned at the most amazing Kathal (jackfruit) Dum biriyani, Mahi Kofta Kaliyaan, Dal Baluchi and Aloo Batasha Korma recipes! He even convinced us, like he has convinced huge groups of fine diners who swear by it now, that a good quality wine can be paired with succulent Indian Kebabs and naans too!
If Baluchi stuns you with its culinary magnificence, 24/7, the café, will make the foodie in you delighted when they serve their scrumptious buffet spreads with astounding variety! The café is always beaming with people who may have walked in for a quick grab or a meeting at the alfresco or just hanging around the beautiful pool.
On Sunday brunches or specials, like the upcoming Father’s day Brunch, or the Mango Festival in June, a special employee named Burney is the center of an attraction along with the amazing spread!
Burney is a huge, rescued, 8-year-old St Bernard’s dog who apparently has an Employee ID and his Key Responsibility Areas include sleeping in the lobby for three hours at least! Bunny, the beagle and Burney, the St Bernard’s have been allotted quarters and have attendants to look after them. We loved how eagerly they introduced us to the pups!
Their pan Asian restaurant OKO was truly amazing! This fine dining restaurant serves the best Tom Kha soup, Black fungus and bamboo shoot sticky fried rice, delicious sushis and amazing stir fried chicken! You’ll remember their delicious lemongrass ice cream for the longest time. With an eclectic selection of food and beverage outlets from all-day eateries to exquisite fine dining restaurants, one can immerse themselves in impeccable service, scrumptious food and fantastic ambiance!
During the pandemic, they started something called the Chef-on-call too! Imagine a 5 star chef coming to your home and cooking on your special occasions!
Next, we must introduce you to another slice of heaven inside this property! Deep tissue or a Thai massage in their very luxurious Spa named Rejuve will not only invigorate you, it will surely make you come back for more!
What catches your attention when you enter the hotel lobby is The Enlightenment Tree. Ms Deepti Kapil, Marketing Manager, shows us the tree and explains, “Our purpose is to educate them about diversity in the LGBTQI community. On this tree, we have accommodated all the terms that make people curious about the LGBTQI, so that it helps our guests to understand the community better.”
For the Pride month in June, The LaLiT Ashok is organizing many events to accommodate, meet, interact and learn more about the community. A Sunday Queer Brunch is one such event!
